How to check the Expiry Date of the Gas Cylinder

Like the all other things cylinder also have expiry date and it is also dangerous to use expired gas cylinder in the kitchen. Normally we check the outer conditions of the cylinder, seal and weight of the cylinder but forget to check its expiry date which becomes the reason of accident later.

It is very easy to check the expiry date of the cylinder. Every cylinder has Round Handle from which we normally pick the cylinder which looks like a steering also with the three supports and a code written on one of this support in the white colour. This code is the expiry date of the cylinder.

This expiry date code is written with the help of Alphabets and numeric digit.

The alphabets are written on it shows the Month of expiry date.
A - Shows the month from January to March
B - Shows the month from April to June
C - Shows the month from July to September
D - Shows the month from October to December

The numeric numbers written on it shows year of expiry date.

Let us understand this with the help of examples:

If D-06 is written on any gas cylinder it means this cylinder is valid till Dec 2006.

The Second example with D13 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2013.
